As I was working with a client at one of the gyms in KL a couple of days ago, I bumped into another personal trainer (which doesn’t happen very often because there aren’t as many freelance trainers as you think!) Today was different though – it was more than the feeling of just ‘bumping’ into another trainer, but this particular trainer happened to be someone I coached for a few classes a few months ago, and she...

As we’re just days away from the crowning of Asia’s FIRST Biggest Loser – who will walk away with a cash prize of US$100,000? Using the most unfair method possible to judge the winner, which is just actual weight lost on the scale – it only opens the competition up to cheating and drastic methods. Think about it – if those contestants on the biggest loser gained muscle – they would be penalized. And how ridiculous...

In conjunction with the launch of the BodyRedemption System , or BRS for short (and, which launches in less than 12 hours!) I got an email from a reader this evening – and I think she’s brought up a really great concern. For everyone’s benefit, here it is (it could possibly clear that nagging doubt you’ve been having): Dear DM, It is really unfortunate that I overlooked your BodyRedemption System Launch because I have...

As we are approximately 72 hours away from the LAUNCH of my BodyRedemption System (BRS) , and I’m still in the process of explaining what you can expect out of it, today, I’d like to add that the BRS really does go beyond the scope of your typical fitness/weight management product out there in the market. As a Certified Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant (American Council on Exercise), and more importantly, being someone...

As we draw closer to the official launch of my BodyRedemption System on 1st March 2010, I’d like to shed some light on exactly how it works. I don’t wish to shroud my product in mystery or to trick anyone into buying it without being able to make an informed decision – so to summarize what the BodyRedemption System is… 1. What is the BodyRedemption System? The BodyRedemption System , or BRS for short – is a 31-day...

Looking for that ’secret Taylor Lautner’ workout you can’t seem to find anywhere? Then you are at the right place. I like observing ‘celebrity workouts’, and how people perceive them. Often, people tend to focus on the exact things their favourite celebrity did to get that Hollywood-approved physique – for example, how many reps did he/she do, how many sets, what time of the day did they work out – exactly...

1. The Ultimate PERMANENT Lifestyle Change Guide – “Give a man a fish; feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish; feed him for a lifetime”. I’m sure by now, I don’t need to tell you that the the only way to PERMANENT weight loss and a better looking physique is Lifestyle Change. We all know how to eat healthy, exercise, and how to go on a ‘diet’. But with so much information out there – how do we...

This blog post is more on a personal note, but nevertheless, something I’d like to share because I think it speaks volumes about what a Personal Trainer-Client relationship can be. So, if you’ve been dreading your workout sessions with your trainer at the gym… I’d like to enlighten you that there’s actually light at the end of the tunnel. Read on… I received a heartwarming testimonial from a client this...

As I’m sitting down in front of my laptop on a magnificent Monday morning here at home, with my breakfast on the side, and glancing at what I was having for breakfast (a smoked salmon sandwich) – I was reminded of what my lifestyle was many years ago. For those of you who don’t know about my story , I led a very unhealthy lifestyle back then during my schooling days and in college. To give you a rough idea of what my eating...

Often, I am asked about my experience and what it is like to be a Personal Trainer – especially when I’m someone who actually quit a well paying secure job in an IT company here in Malaysia to pursue doing something I love. Today’s blog post is just some light reading that may give you a glimpse on some of the things I enjoy as a trainer/coach currently working with people from all walks of life. So here they are, in no particular...

It has been awhile since I last caught an episode of the Biggest Loser Asia. In fact, just earlier this week, I happen to catch the latest episode playing on Hallmark, but barely 10 minutes into the show, and I switched over to the Asian Food Channel instead. Why? Frankly… it sickens me. Yes, this is a huge statement I’m making considering I was really excited about the show late 2009. I even had the privilege to be part of a guerilla-marketing...

2009 was a massive year for me – both personally and for my blog DailyMuscle.com. Many opportunities came along, and some of them really really promising – but as for how things worked out towards the end, I am very content with what I have right now – and I thank God for closing the wrong doors, and opening up the right ones for me. Here are some of my highlights for 2009; Highlights for 2009 1. I launched my…  Read More →

While most people (me included) tend to lay back during the year-end, slowing down the pace of things, spending more time with family, eating more meals outside due to the holiday season – there’s no reason why one should absolutely stop working towards their fitness goals. Sure, this may not be the time to achieve a new personal best, but as long as you keep the weight from piling on, or prevent yourself from ‘derailing’...

If there’s one thing I learned at the Asia Fitness Convention, it’s that the human body has incredible potential, and most of us have great potential to really excel in a sport. Push yourself hard enough in the area you are weak, and your body has no choice but to respond. (but push yourself stupidly and you’ll end up injuring yourself like a Biggest Loser Asia team member, but we’ll save that for another blog post)....

All I can say is WOW . I had the most amazing 3 days over the weekend at the Asia Fitness Convention 2009 in Bangkok. New concepts, doubts cleared, tonnes of tips and tricks learned, and countless new things to try both on myself, and ultimately my clients. I have to admit, that as a Personal Trainer, I did not expect to learn this much. I did not expect to be ‘…  Read More →
